The benefits of therapy for treatment of depression and anxiety are well documented. However, engaging in the therapeutic process is also helpful for those who are experiencing life transitions and for those who wish to increase self-awareness to facilitate personal growth.
Almost everyone experiences unexpected events in his or her life, whether positive or negative. When confronted with these events, most people utilize strategies that developed during the maturation process. Although these strategies may have been effective earlier in life, they may hinder effective coping with current life circumstances.
